My Repurposed Renovation dream actually began during the Housing Recession in 2008. I was a single woman wanting to take advantage of the first time homebuyer tax credit being offered in response to the housing crisis.  Although it was a fight to get a loan approved I was able to start renovating my first home at just 23 years old.  I was teaching full time, but spending any free time painting, sanding, and upcycling my way to a 'new' old home. Four homes and over a decade later I now live in another fixer upper with my amazing husband Jeff.  I am now fortunate enough to spend my full time planning a way to sustainably renovate our new home.  I feature our home decor and furniture upcycles as a way to share our budget and earth friendly projects with others.  I hope you enjoy this site, and that it serves as inspiration to 'renew' instead of buy 'new'.
